TUCSON - Attorney General Brnovich announced today that Brittany Cannon was sentenced to two years in prison, followed by five years on probation after previously having pled guilty to one count of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices (class 2 felony) and one count of Organized Retail Theft (class 4 felony).
Cannon was indicted in May of 2021 and accused of participating in an Organized Retail Theft ring that defrauded various Target and Marshalls stores across Arizona. Cannon would take merchandise without paying in order to resell items on Facebook Marketplace and OfferUp. When Cannon was apprehended, she was in a vehicle with stolen items.
This case was investigated by Oro Valley Police Department with help from Target Loss Prevention and police departments in Tucson, Marana, Phoenix, Tempe, Gilbert, and Scottsdale.
Assistant Attorney General Sabrina Lochner is handling the prosecution.
