Methamphetamine Drug Trafficker Sentenced to Prison

PHOENIX – Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced Luis Jesus Hernandez was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison for his role in trafficking methamphetamine as part of a drug trafficking organization.

On July 27, 2021, law enforcement arrested Hernandez while observing him conduct a drug transaction in a parking lot. Hernandez was arrested while in possession of 44.8 pounds of methamphetamine in his vehicle. 

Hernandez pleaded guilty to one count of Illegally Conducting an Enterprise, a Class 3 Felony. A Maricopa County Superior Court Judge sentenced Hernandez to 6.5 years in the Arizona Department of Corrections earlier this year.

The case was investigated by the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
