Man Busted with 317.5 Pounds of Methamphetamine Sentenced to Prison

PHOENIX – Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced Camilo Urquiza Sanchez was sentenced to five years in prison in the Arizona Department of Corrections on October 27, 2022 for his involvement in a drug trafficking organization.

On March 10, 2022, law enforcement served a search warrant at Sanchez’ home and located a total of 317.5 pounds of methamphetamine. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is $317,000.

Sanchez pleaded guilty to one count of Conspiracy to Commit Possession of a Dangerous Drug (Methamphetamine) for sale, a Class 2 Felony.

The case was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service, the Drug Enforcement Administration, Peoria Police Department, and Mesa Police Department.

Assistant Attorney General Desiree Kerfoot prosecuted this case.
