PIMA COUNTY – Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced one of three men convicted last month for operating an organized retail theft scheme was sentenced to five years in prison. Micah Allen Pierce, Jesse Raul Henderson, and Clint Anthony Anaya were convicted for stealing $28,000 in ceiling fans from home improvement stores and reselling them for much lower prices on Facebook Marketplace.
On April 6, 2022, Henderson was sentenced to 5 years in prison, followed by 3 years probation, and ordered to pay $12,000 in restitution.
Anaya was sentenced in February to six months in the Arizona Department of Corrections. After his release from prison, he will serve 5 years of supervised probation.
Pierce is scheduled to be sentenced on April 14, 2022, in Pima County Superior Court.
Surveillance video from 2020 shows the brazen thefts as one of the suspects walks out of Home Depot and Lowe's stores with a flatbed and sometimes shopping carts filled with new boxes of fans. Investigators say 28 thefts netted a total of 70 ceiling fans taken from the home improvement stores.
Organized Retail Theft is a class 4 felony offense.

Assistant Attorney General Julia Kaiserman prosecuted this case, which was investigated by the Tucson Police Department.

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office launched an Organized Retail Crime Task Force with the support of the Arizona Legislature in August 2021. The Task Force is one of the first such prosecutorial units in the country dedicated to combating crimes relating to stolen retail merchandise being resold or reentered into commerce.
