Cochise County Woman Pleads Guilty for Casting a Vote in Name of Deceased Mother

BISBEE – Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced today that Krista Michelle Conner, a Cochise County resident, has pleaded guilty for casting a vote in the name of a deceased person through an early ballot cast in the 2020 General Election. Conner entered a guilty plea to one count of Attempted Illegal Voting on Monday, April 4, 2022, before Judge Timothy Dickerson in Cochise County Superior Court.
 
Conner had been previously charged in a felony indictment handed down on October 25, 2021, following allegations that she signed the name of a deceased registered voter named Caroline Jeanne Sullivan to an early ballot envelope. Conner is the daughter of Sullivan, who died on September 7, 2020. 
 
Conner is due back in court for sentencing before Judge Dickerson on Monday, May 16, 2022, at 1:30 pm.

This case was investigated and is being prosecuted by the Arizona Attorney General’s Office Election Integrity Unit (EIU). Assistant Attorney General Todd Lawson is prosecuting the case.
