PARKER – Attorney General Kris Mayes today announced the sentencing of Robert Gilbert Berghofer for 3 counts related to the possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material. Berghofer was sentenced on June 5, 2025 to 17 years in the Department of Corrections and lifetime probation to follow his release. For each count, Berghofer will register as a sex offender and will be monitored by GPS or its equivalent upon his release. The defendant was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $10,000 to the victim.

“My office will continue to partner with law enforcement across Arizona to protect children and ensure that those who exploit them face serious consequences,” said Attorney General Mayes. “There is no higher priority than safeguarding the most vulnerable among us. This sentence sends a clear message that we will not tolerate crimes against children, and we will do everything in our power to identify predators, bring them to justice, and prevent future harm.”
