Attorney General Mayes Announces 15-year Prison Sentence in Child Sexual Abuse Material Case

PHOENIX – Attorney General Kris Mayes announced today that Anthony Whyte was sentenced to 15 years in prison, followed by lifetime supervised probation with sex offender terms on April 6, 2026.

Whyte was indicted on December 16, 2024, after sending four videos of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to an undercover officer via a chat application. Upon his arrest, officers discovered additional CSAM on a thumb drive recovered from his home.

"Those who produce, possess, or distribute child sexual abuse material will be found, prosecuted, and held accountable by my office," said Attorney General Mayes. "We will never stop fighting to protect Arizona's children." 

This case was investigated by the Special Investigations Section of the Arizona Attorney General's Office in partnership with the Chandler Police Department, and prosecuted by the Fraud and Special Prosecutions Section of the Arizona Attorney General's Office.

The Defendant pleaded guilty to Count 1: Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a Class 3 Felony, Dangerous Crimes Against Children, Count 2: Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a Class 3 Felony, Dangerous Crimes Against Children, and Count 3: Attempted Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a Class 3 Felony, Dangerous Crimes Against Children.
