PHOENIX - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced today that the Arizona Attorney General’s Office (AGO) has awarded $600,000 in grant funding to 21 different Child and Family Advocacy Centers (CFACs) across the state. CFACs provide victim-focused programs and help coordinate critical services for victims of family violence and sexual assault, including children.
“An alarming trend in our country is the growing lack of respect for the victims of crime,” said Attorney General Mark Brnovich. “We can never let this happen in Arizona and our ongoing support for child and family advocacy centers reflects our shared commitment to providing compassionate and effective services for the most vulnerable victims in our criminal justice system.”
This is the second round of funding the AGO has provided to CFACs as a result of a program established by the legislature, in conjunction with the AGO, in FY2020. To date, the AGO has distributed $1.2 million to CFACs across the state since the implementation of the grant funding program.
"I would like to thank the Attorney General's Office for the grant award," said Lt. Lee Campbell of the Scottsdale Police Department. "The grant funding proved to be so valuable last year, and we were able to purchase equipment, provide training, and conducted a remodel of the FAC. We are very excited to use the funding to help our clients who are provided services from the Scottsdale FAC."

The AGO awarded funding to CFACs that helped provide critical services to more than 23,000 victims during 2020, including victims of adult abuse, vulnerable adult abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, juvenile sex trafficking, and homicide. AGO grant amounts were awarded to CFACs as follows:

- Amberly’s Place (Yuma): $47,751.30
- Chandler Police Department’s Family Advocacy Center: $22,255.10
- Childhelp (Gila County): $14,074.64
- Childhelp (Maricopa County): $47,919.04
- City of Avondale Southwest Family Advocacy Center: $26,267.92
- City of Glendale Family Advocacy Center: $33,932.26
- City of Phoenix Family Advocacy Center: $28,293.68
- City of Scottsdale Advocacy Center: $34,912.88
- Eloy Family Advocacy Center: $17,106.83
- Globe Police Department (Copper Hills Family Advocacy Center): $19,377.75
- H.A.V.E.N. Family Resource Center (Lake Havasu): $21,622.86
