Attorney General Announces Conviction of Phoenix Man for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

PHOENIX – Attorney General Kris Mayes announced that on July 25, 2025, Christopher Votey pled guilty to one count of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, a class 2 felony, and two counts of Attempt to Commit Sexual Exploitation of a Minor, class 3 felonies.
Law enforcement became aware of Votey through an online investigation. During the investigation, Votey sent an undercover agent multiple images and videos of child exploitative materials. Votey was later contacted by law enforcement and admitted to viewing and distributing child exploitative materials via various apps and websites.
Votey's sentencing is currently scheduled for October 27, 2025.
