Fraudulent Title Loan Shop Targeted Undocumented Immigrants, Profited from Human Smugglers

Phoenix - The Arizona Attorney General’s Office partnered with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) to close a fraudulent title loan shop in Phoenix. Six people have been convicted in connection to Garcia’s and Associates LLC, including the company’s owner, who remains at large. The business engaged in the systematic filing of false vehicle liens and foreclosure statements, which supported the criminal activities of human smugglers.

Attorney General Mark Brnovich Indicts Healthcare/ Church Bookkeeper Accused of Forging Checks

Phoenix - Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich is announcing the indictments of a Phoenix healthcare and church bookkeeper. 

On January 22, 2015 officers from the Phoenix Police Department and the Attorney General’s Office arrested Nelda Jean Nicholson. Nicholson had been indicted by the State Grand Jury on January 12, and charged in two separate indictments with two counts of Theft, two counts of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, and 145 counts of Forgery.
