I was deeply saddened last night after hearing of the two police detectives involved in a shooting while on duty.
While one detective fights for his life, I mourn with the rest of the state knowing that a 21-year veteran of the Phoenix police department is gone.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family of the fallen detective as they try to heal and move forward. I also ask that everyone take a moment to will strength and thoughts of healing to the family of the detective who remains in critical condition.
