AG Horne To Testify Today At House Committee Hearing on Colorado City Police Force Decertification

Attorney General Tom Horne will testify this afternoon in the House Government Committee in favor of SB 1433, a measure that would require that any municipality where 50% or more of the police have had their AZPOST certification revoked over an eight year period would forfeit their law enforcement functions to the county.

(AZPOST is the statewide regulatory entity for law enforcement officers).

AG Horne Announces Prison Sentence For Glendale Man Convicted Of Prescription Drug Fraud

(Phoenix, Ariz.) March 13, 2012 -- Attorney General Tom Horne announced today that a Glendale man has been sentenced to prison and probation for prescription drug fraud.

35-year old Americo DaCosta received an aggravated sentence of three years in the Arizona Department of Corrections on one count of Forgery, a class four felony. In addition, DaCosta received a four year supervised probation sentence on one count of Acquisition of Narcotic Drugs by Fraud, a class 3 felony. His probation will begin following his stay in prison.

AG Horne: Home Health Care Worker Convicted For Fraud of Vulnerable Adult

(Tucson, Ariz.) – March 13th, 2012 -- Attorney General Tom Horne today announced that a guilty verdict has been reached in Pima County Superior Court  in the trial of Julianne Mari Lane, a home health worker in Tucson. 

Over the course of seven months, Lane, 46, stole money belonging to an elderly patient.  The loss was discovered by the patient’s family member after receiving several bank notices for insufficient funds.
