Terry Goddard Recognizes Child Abuse Prevention Month

(Phoenix, Ariz. - April 5, 2010) On average, one child is abused or neglected every hour in Arizona. Last year, Arizona Child Protective Services received more than 33,000 reports involving the alleged maltreatment of some 49,000 children. Nationally, five children die every day from child abuse.

Those grim statistics give Attorney General Terry Goddard good reason to call attention to National Child Abuse Prevention Month and Tuesday’s Arizona Day of Hope Event at the State Capitol.
