Terry Goddard and AMC Announce Greater Movie Theater Accessibility for Disabled

(Phoenix, Ariz. – March 31, 2009)  Attorney General Terry Goddard and American MultiCinema, Inc., and its subsidiaries and affiliates, (AMC) today announced a settlement that will expand accessibility for blind, deaf and hard-of-hearing movie patrons.  

AMC currently has nine auditoriums in Arizona equipped with technology that enable blind, deafand hard-of-hearing patrons to enjoy movies shown in its theaters.  This lawsuit sought to expand the number of AMC auditoriums equipped with this technology to create greater access.   

Terry Goddard Testifies on Border Violence before U.S. Senate Hearing

(Phoenix, Ariz. – March 17, 2009) Attorney General Terry Goddard testified today before a joint session of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime and Drugs and the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control on Tuesday.  

Goddard was invited by Subcommittee Chairman Sen. Richard Durbin to testify at today’s hearing entitled, “Law Enforcement Responses to Mexican Drug Cartels.”  

Terry Goddard Files Lawsuit to Stop Foreclosure Rescue Operation

(Phoenix, Ariz. – March 5, 2009)  Attorney General Terry Goddard today announced that he has filed a lawsuit against an alleged foreclosure rescue operation believed to have defrauded approximately 400 Arizonans of their homes. This action comes as part of Goddard’s crackdown on con artists who prey upon vulnerable homeowners struggling to avoid foreclosure. 

Terry Goddard to Discuss Internet Safety with Orangedale 8th Graders

(Phoenix, Ariz. – March 2, 2008)  Attorney General Terry Goddard will visit Orangedale Junior High Preparatory Academy on Friday, March 6, to discuss Internet safety with some 200 eighth graders at the school.  

Topics will include avoiding Internet predators, cyberbullying, staying safe on social networking sites and protecting personal information. This event is part of Goddard’s ongoing Internet Safety School Tour. Since 2005, the Attorney General and his staff have met with thousands of students across Arizona to discuss how to use the Internet safely.
