Terry Goddard Announces Fraud Fighter Accounts

(Phoenix, Ariz. – Feb. 27, 2006) Attorney General Terry Goddard today announced a new program to protect Arizona consumers from identity theft and financial exploitation called Fraud Fighter Accounts.

These accounts are for those people most vulnerable to identity theft or fraud because of disabilities, health issues or because their financial security was already compromised. The Fraud Fighter Account, to be offered by participating banks and credit unions, allows consumers to choose among several options to protect their accounts. The options include:

Drug and Stolen Credit Card Ring Broken Up

(Phoenix, Ariz. – Feb. 28, 2006) A stolen credit card and drug trafficking operation was shut down today by a joint law enforcement task force that served search warrants at seven locations throughout the Valley. Ten people have been arrested. Officers seized more than 200 pounds of marijuana, a small amount of methamphetamine, more than $300,000 in cash, and a variety of other assets including bank accounts, a home and several vehicles.
