(Phoenix, Ariz. – Oct. 23, 2007) Attorney General Terry Goddard will travel to Israel tomorrow as part of a legal exchange program between the National Association of Attorneys General and the Israeli government in cooperation with the American-Israel Friendship League.
“This is an excellent opportunity to talk with some of the top legal scholars in Israel, as well as meet with government officials and hear their perspectives about the current political environment,” Goddard said.
Goddard joins 12 other current and former Attorneys General on this trip that will run Wednesday, Oct. 24, through Friday, Nov. 2.
The delegation will meet with several top-ranking Israeli government officials as well as other leaders within the Israeli community. The goals of the trip are to learn more about the Israeli legal system, discuss comparative legal systems and confer on mutual issues where cooperation is needed, such as anti-terrorism initiatives, cybercrime, civil rights, criminal law and juvenile crime.
The trip is being paid for by the American-Israel Friendship League, the Israeli government and the National Association of Attorneys General.
