She is a graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy, Valley Leadership and Scottsdale Leadership. In 2007, she was chosen by the Phoenix Business Journal as one of its "40 under 40" honorees.
Edwards earned a degree in urban planning and environmental design from Arizona State University. She is currently a Master's/Ph.D. candidate in political science at Northern Arizona University.
She and her husband, Mike, and their young son live in Scottsdale.
