Grand Jury Indicts Detention Officer

PHOENIX – Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a State Grand Jury indicted Roy Eugene Ramey III on 4 counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact with an Inmate, a Class 5 felony.
 
Ramey was working as a Detention Officer for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office when he allegedly engaged in sex acts with a female inmate at the Estrella Jail facility. The alleged acts occurred from June to August 2016.
 
Assistant Attorney General Maura C. Quigley is prosecuting this case.
