Consumer Information Regarding the Human Smuggling Case

If you purchased a car from a car dealer whose business has been seized by the Department of Public Safety, your purchase contract is still considered valid.  That means you can keep the car and continue to use it.  It also means however, that you must continue to make payments under the terms of the contract you signed.  You should send your payments to the Attorney General's Office until this is sorted out.  

Please include with your payment:

  • The make of the car
  • Year and model
  • License plate number of your car
  • The name of the business you bought it from
  • Your name and address
  • The total purchase price you agreed to pay, so your payment can be accurately credited to your records.
