Attorney General’s Office to Open Sedona Satellite Office

(Phoenix, Ariz. – revised June 10, 1005)  Attorney General Terry Goddard today announced the opening of the newest community Satellite Office, which will be housed at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, in Sedona, through the Northern Arizona Interfaith project.  The office will open Friday, June 10 at 9 a.m.

The Attorney General’s Office has satellite offices throughout Arizona to provide residents with convenient locations where they can visit to file discrimination or consumer fraud complaints.  The satellite offices are staffed by volunteers trained to take complaints.

The Sedona Satellite Office will take discrimination complaints in English and Spanish regarding employment, housing, disability, public accommodations and voting rights.  The office will also provide information on consumer fraud, identity theft, civil rights, and consumer issues.  Volunteers are also trained to help consumers file consumer fraud complaints.

“This office is part of our effort to provide the community with places they can visit in person without having to come to the Attorney General’s Office,” Goddard said.  “The atmosphere is less official, and complaints at the Satellite Offices are forwarded to the Attorney General’s Consumer and Civil Rights staff for further review and action.”

St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church is located at 100 Arroyo Pinon Drive.  The Satellite Office will be open on Mondays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on Fridays from 9 a.m. to Noon.  Volunteers who speak English and Spanish will be available on Mondays.
