Attorney General Tom Horne to Defend Arizona's Voter Integrity Law in U.S. Supreme Court

Phoenix (Wednesday, March 13, 2013) -- When voters passed Proposition 200 in 2004 to require proof of citizenship to register to vote, little did they know the issue would land in the nation's highest court -- nine years later.  Horne is traveling to Washington, D.C. tomorrow to personally argue the constitutionality of the "Arizona Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act", which passed in 2004 as Proposition 200.  It requires voters to provide proof of citizenship when registering to vote and was approved by voters with a margin of more than 11 percent.
