Attorney General Mayes Seeks Public's Help in Investigation into the Death of Oro Valley Woman

ORO VALLEY, AZ – The Arizona Attorney General's Office Cold Case Unit, in cooperation with the Pinal County Sheriff's Office, is requesting the public's help in the investigation into the death of Oro Valley woman, Zuraida "Bee Bee" Lewis.

On Friday, January 28, 2005, at approximately 6:45 a.m., Zuraida reportedly left her Oro Valley residence to report to work at the Hilton Tucson El Conquistador Hotel and Resort. She never arrived for her shift. Coworkers later noticed her vehicle in the hotel parking lot, though not in her usual space, prompting concern for her whereabouts. Lewis was subsequently reported missing, and an investigation into her disappearance began.

The following morning, Saturday, January 29, 2005, hunters discovered the body of a nude female in a desert area near Willow Springs Road and State Highway 77 in Pinal County. The body was later identified as Zuraida Lewis.

"If anyone has information on the death or disappearance of Zuraida "Bee Bee" Lewis, we are urging them to come forward and share what they know," said Attorney General Mayes. "Even though over 21 years have passed since Ms. Lewis' death, my office and local law enforcement have not given up on finding answers. Any detail, no matter how small, may help lead to a resolution in this case."

The Arizona Attorney General's Office is assisting Pinal County authorities in the ongoing investigation and asks anyone with information regarding Lewis' death to come forward.
