PHOENIX – Attorney General Kris Mayes today announced an investigation into Thin Blue Line Benefits Association LLC and Thin Blue Line Benefits Association Holdings LLC (collectively “Thin Blue Line”) following a formal referral to the Arizona Attorney General's Office (AGO) by the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions.
Last week, the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions found Thin Blue Lines Benefits Association was unlawfully providing insurance in Arizona and issued a cease-and-desist. The cease-and-desist follows media reporting of Phoenix law enforcement officers, firefighters, and their families facing collections agencies for unpaid medical bills.
The Attorney General's Office cannot comment further on ongoing investigations.
