AG's Office, PCSD, AARP, Christian Fellowship Ministries Hosting Tucson Shred-A-Thon and Prescription Drug Take-Back Event

What: The Attorney General’s Office, Pima County Sheriff's Department, AARP, and Christian Fellowship Ministries are hosting a free Shred-A-Thon and Prescription Drug Take-Back event next Saturday in conjunction with National Drug Take-Back Day. The event is free and open to the public.

There is a five box limit for shredded documents. The following are examples of items not accepted (but not limited to): binders, binder clips, inhalers, aerosol cans, lotions or liquids, needles, and hydrogen peroxide.

When: Saturday, October 24th at 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM (or until trucks are full)

Where: Christian Fellowship Ministries, 1126 N. Jones Blvd, Tucson, AZ 85716

Why: Shredding your personal or sensitive documents is an important step to ensure your identity is not stolen. Getting rid of old prescription drugs is key in keeping opioids out of the hands of our youth.

Background: The 19th National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day is scheduled for October 24, 2020, for the disposal of unused, unneeded, or expired prescription controlled substances. Over the past nine years (September 2010 - October 2019), these events have been overwhelmingly successful and have resulted in the collection and disposal of over 6,349 tons of pharmaceuticals.
