PHOENIX – Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a State Grand Jury indicted Jason Siebert-Thomas and Daylon G. Pierce for their alleged involvement in a credit card scheme targeting deceased credit card holders. Nine victims in Arizona have been identified, however the investigation continues.
From August 2016 to January 2017, a Tempe Police investigation revealed Jason Siebert-Thomas and Daylon Pierce allegedly used victims' personal information to obtain duplicate credit cards and make thousands of dollars in fraudulent purchases from luxury stores and hotels. Police arrested Siebert-Thomas at his home on January 12, 2017. Shortly thereafter, investigators also determined Pierce was involved in the large scale credit card fraud scheme.
Siebert-Thomas is currently facing 14 felony counts:
- Two Counts of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, Class 2 Felonies
- Five Counts of Aggravated Taking the Identity of Another, Class 3 Felonies
- One Count of Conspiracy, a Class 2 Felony
- Four Counts of Taking the Identity of Another, Class 4 Felonies
- One Count of Forgery, a Class 4 Felony
- One Count of Failure to Update Registration As a Sex Offender, a Class 4 Felony
Pierce is currently facing 3 felony counts:
- One Count of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, a Class 2 Felony
- One Count of Aggravated Taking the Identity of Another, Class 3 Felony
- One Count of Conspiracy, a Class 2 Felony
The Tempe Police Department is investigating this case.
