Two Brothers Indicted in Unsolved Murder Case

PHOENIX - Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a State Grand Jury indicted 19 year old Israel Carrasco and his older brother, 21 year old Enrique Luna for their alleged involvement in an unsolved murder in Glendale. Carrasco and Luna are facing charges of First Degree Felony Murder, Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, Aggravated Assault, Conspiracy, and Illegally Conducting an Enterprise. Luna is also facing a charge of Misconduct Involving Weapons.

In January 2016, 21 year old Christopher Gonzales-Cummings was shot in his bedroom. Two other adults and a child were inside the apartment when three men allegedly forced entry through the front door with guns.  It is alleged one suspect held the two adults at gun point in the living room while the other two suspects shot the victim in his bedroom and stole some of his items.

This case was unsolved for almost a year. The Glendale Police Department and the Attorney General's Office worked together to identify two of the suspects. Both Defendants are being held on a $750,000 cash only bond.
