Three People Indicted Accused of Possessing and Passing Counterfeit U.S. Currency

PHOENIX – Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a State Grand Jury indicted Robert Lowell Kunard, Debra Ann Hernandez, and Robert John Greves for their alleged involvement in possessing and passing United States one hundred dollar bills that appear to be counterfeits.

It is alleged that on August 19, 2018, Kunard was in possession of counterfeit one hundred dollar bills while in Peoria, Arizona.  It is further alleged that between October 13, 2018 and October 15, 2018, Kunard and Hernandez passed counterfeit one hundred dollar bills at multiple locations in Yavapai County.

Robert Lowell Kunard is currently facing 6 felony counts:

  • One Count of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, a Class 2 Felony
  • Five Counts of Forgery, as Class 4 Felonies

Debra Ann Hernandez is currently facing 5 felony counts:

  • One Count of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, a Class 2 Felony
  • Four Counts of Forgery, as Class 4 Felonies

Robert John Greves is currently facing 4 felony counts:

  • One Count of Fraudulent Schemes and Artifices, a Class 2 Felony
  • One Count of Forgery, a Class 4 Felony
  • One Count of Possession of a Dangerous Drug, a class 4 felony
  • One Count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class 6 felony

Assistant Attorney General Scott Blake is prosecuting this case.

All defendants are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

This matter was investigated by the following agencies: Peoria Police Department, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, Yavapai-Prescott Tribal Police Department, and the Prescott Police Department.  The Yavapai County Attorney’s Office also assisted with this matter.  Anyone with additional information on this case is urged to contact the Peoria Police Department.
