Terry Goddard Opens Tucson Satellite Office

(Tucson, Ariz. – March 1, 2005)  Attorney General Terry Goddard today announced the opening of the newest Attorney General Satellite Office, which will be located at St. John's Catholic Church (Casa San Juan) in Tucson.  Goddard will be on hand to open the office on Wednesday, March 2 at 10:00 a.m.  Media is welcome to attend this opening.

The Attorney General’s Office has satellite offices throughout Arizona to provide residents with convenient locations where they can visit to file discrimination or consumer fraud complaints.  The satellite offices are staffed with volunteers trained to take discrimination and consumer complaints in English and Spanish.  The volunteers are trained to take discrimination complaints regarding employment, housing, disability, public accommodations and voting rights.   The office will also provide information on consumer fraud, identity theft, civil rights, consumer and other information for interested individuals.

“This satellite office is our part of our effort to provide the community with places they can visit in person without having to come down to the Attorney General’s Office,” Goddard said.  “The atmosphere is less official, and complaints at the Satellite Offices are forwarded to the Attorney General’s Consumer and Civil Rights staff for further review and action.”

St. John's Catholic Church is located at 602 W. Ajo Way in Tucson.
