(Phoenix, Ariz. – November 10, 2008) Attorney General Terry Goddard today announced the formation of the Attorney General’s Military & Veterans Advisory Council. In recognition of Veterans Day, Goddard will hold the inaugural meeting of the Council on Wednesday, November 12. Goddard will also attend the 2008 Phoenix Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday, November 11.
Attorney General’s Military & Veterans Advisory Council
Goddard will hold the first meeting of the Attorney General’s Military & Veterans Advisory Council on Wednesday, November 12. The council will advise the Attorney General’s Office on issues that impact active duty military, veterans and their families in Arizona and provide insight into the challenges that lie ahead for veterans in Arizona.
The Council was formed to respond to concerns brought to the Attorney General’s Office by active duty military personnel and veterans, including consumer scams targeting military personnel, veterans and their families; questionable charity solicitations; military base encroachment by development; employment issues and housing and mortgage problems.

Phoenix Veterans Day Parade
Goddard will participate in the Phoenix Veterans Day Parade on Tuesday, November 11. He will be joined by fellow veterans from the Arizona Attorney General’s Office as well as Cub Scout Pack 421.
The parade will begin at Carl T. Hayden Veterans Medical Center, located at the intersection of Indian School Rd and 7th St. It will end at the North Phoenix Baptist Church at the intersection of Bethany Home Rd and Central Ave.
The Phoenix Veterans Day Parade draws 200,000 spectators each year and includes a variety of floats, marching formations, military and veterans’ organizations.
