Congressman Jeff Flake to Discuss Immigration at NAAG Luncheon

(Phoenix, Ariz. – Nov. 29, 2005)  Arizona Congressman Jeff Flake will speak on immigration issues at the opening luncheon of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) winter meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 30. The noon luncheon will be open to the media.

More than 40 state attorneys general will attend this year’s winter meeting when they gather to discuss common issues Wednesday through Friday. Meeting sessions are closed to the press and public.

"Attorneys General face many of the same issues that impact the quality of life and safety of citizens across the country," said NAAG President and Indiana Attorney General Steve Carter. "As chief legal counsels for our states, we work with federal, state and local units of government, as well as with each other, to share ideas, strategies and innovative projects for the benefit of all."

NAAG fosters interstate cooperation on legal and law enforcement issues, conducts policy research and analysis of issues, and facilitates communication among the states’ chief legal officers. The association’s members are the Attorneys General of the 50 states and the District of Columbia, the Commonwealths of Puerto Rico (Secretary of Justice) and the Northern Mariana Islands, and the territories of American Samoa, Guam and the Virgin Islands. The U.S. Attorney General is an honorary member.
