(Phoenix, Ariz. – Dec. 12, 2007) Attorney General Terry Goddard today announced that Thomas Desposito, 41, of Cave Creek, was found guilty on 13 counts related to the possession and sale of methamphetamine. The verdict was announced Tuesday following a two-week trial in Maricopa County Superior Court.
Desposito was part of a large methamphetamine distribution ring uncovered in a 2005 Phoenix Police Department investigation. Police found that this trafficking organization was importing large quantities of methamphetamine from Mexico.
The jury convicted Desposito of conspiracy, illegally conducting an enterprise, possession of methamphetamine for sale, transportation of methamphetamine for sale, offer to sell or transfer methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, use of a wire communication in a drug-related transaction and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Desposito will be sentenced Jan. 23, 2008. He faces up to 15 years in prison. Assistant Attorneys General Paula Alleman and Jeff Rueter prosecuted this case.
