Brothers Indicted for Allegedly Selling Spice

PHOENIX - Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced a State Grand Jury indicted Omar Abuarar and Nathmi Abuarar for allegedly selling spice, a synthetic drug in mini-markets in the Phoenix area.

Omar Abuarar is charged with 11 felony counts including Conspiracy, Illegally Conducting an Enterprise, Sale of a Dangerous Drug, Possession of a Dangerous Drug for Sale, and Selling or Offering to Sell Cigarettes Stamped for Reservation Sales.  Nathmi Abuarar is charged with 9 felony counts including Conspiracy, Illegally Conducting an Enterprise, Sale of a Dangerous Drug, and Selling or Offering to Sell Cigarettes Stamped for Reservation Sales.

The charges stem from an investigation conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Phoenix Division and the Maricopa County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Taskforce (HIDTA).

From August 2016 to May 2017, Omar Abuarar and Nathmi Abuarar allegedly sold spice in smoke shops. During the investigation, law enforcement also found a storage locker where Omar Abuarar and Nathmi Abuarar allegedly stored their packets of spice.

The Defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
