Deceptive Auto Advertising Targeted By AG Horne

PHOENIX (Tuesday, January 29, 2013) -- Two cases involving allegations of deceptive automobile advertising practices have been settled in court action, Attorney General Tom Horne announced today.

In the first case, a Maricopa County judge has barred the owner of a now-defunct Louisiana vehicle sales marketing firm from advertising, selling, and leasing used or new vehicles in Arizona.

PHOENIX (Tuesday, December 18, 2012) -- Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne announced today a multi-state settlement with the major cigarette companies resolving a $3 billion payment dispute under the 1998 tobacco Master Settlement Agreement.

“This is a significant result for Arizona as it provides additional monies to the state and eliminates the risk that it could lose its $100 million annual payment from the companies for one or more of the next several years,” Horne said.

Horne: Consent Judgment for West Valley Woman Who Claimed "Church Donations" as Part of Alleged Mortgage Modification Scheme

Phoenix (Thursday, October 18, 2012) -- Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne has obtained a Consent Judgment against Rosa Galope in a consumer fraud lawsuit in which the State alleged that Ms. Galope engaged in a scheme designed to defraud homeowners looking for assistance in obtaining mortgage loan modifications and forestalling foreclosure on their homes.
