Position Summary: 

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office State Government Division, Education and Health Section, is seeking an Assistant Attorney General.  The Education Unit of the Education and Health Section provides a full range of legal services to the State Education agencies; including, but not limited to, the State Board of Education (including its Professional Practices Advisory Committee), the Arizona Department of Education, the Arizona Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, the School Facilities Board, and the Arizona State Board for Charter Schools. The attorneys in the Education Unit provide written and verbal legal advice, represent the education agencies in administrative hearings and litigation matters, review contracts, review proposed agency rules and policies, and provide other legal services as needed.  The primary focus of this position is representation of the State in teacher discipline matters, which includes conducting administrative evidentiary hearings before the Professional Practices Advisory Committee on a regular basis.
