One of the major areas where the Attorney General's Office uses its legal expertise is in enforcing laws governing noncustodial parents' payment of child support monies. The Attorney General works with the Arizona Department of Economic Security, the various counties and the courts to enforce these laws.
The attorneys and legal staff of The Child Support Enforcement Section (CSES) provide legal advice and representation to the Division of Child Support Enforcement (DCSE), within the Department of Economic Security (DES). The CSES does not represent private individuals; DCSE is responsible for the statewide operation of the child support program. CSES represents the program in paternity, support order establishment, modification, and enforcement matters in both local and interstate cases.
There are twelve CSES locations, handling cases in ten different counties* throughout the State of Arizona. In the other counties, either the County Attorney or a private company provide child support services. For the child support office nearest you, please refer to the DCSE website link below.
You may also apply for services with DES by calling (602) 252-4045 or 1-800-882-4151 and obtaining an application or you may download the forms from the DCSE website. www.azdes.gov/dcse. There is no charge for any of the services provided by DCSE.
