Colorado City / Polygamy
The Arizona Attorney General and the Utah Attorney General have partnered to address crimes within the polygamous communities of Colorado City, Arizona and Hildale, Utah that involve child abuse, domestic violence and fraud.
The Primer – Helping Victims of Domestic Violence and Child Abuse in Polygamous Communities

These efforts have also produced a training handbook “The Primer – Helping Victims of Domestic Violence and Child Abuse in Polygamous Communities.” This manual provides basic information about various polygamous communities that will assist human services professionals, law enforcement officers and others in helping victims from these communities.
The Primer will be updated regularly to reflect changes in the law and changes in each organization’s beliefs and practices.

Safety Net Directory – Agencies and Organizations Helping Victims of Domestic Violence and Child Abuse in Polygamous Communities
The coordinated efforts of the Arizona and Utah Attorneys General have resulted in the Safety Net Program. The Program focuses on coordinating resources to help victims of child abuse and domestic violence. Representatives from law enforcement, state and local social service agencies, advocacy groups and members of the community convene monthly meetings to discuss the needs and concerns of victims living in polygamous communities.
The Safety Net Directory is a web-based listing of government agencies, social service providers and non-profit organizations that provide law enforcement or social services in the Colorado City-Hildale communities and participate in the Safety Net efforts. The Directory includes a brief description of each organization and is updated regularly to reflect new information and any additional entries.
