Title:Â Administrative Assistant I

DESCRIPTION - This position will be responsible for answering the public inquiry telephone line in Consumer Information and Complaints (CIC) Unit of the Consumer Protection and Advocacy Section and speaking with consumers who call for assistance or come to the office. This position will be called up on to converse in Spanish with consumers and translate documents written in Spanish into English. Position is also responsible for processing consumer complaints received in the CIC Unit and updating/maintaining the CIC computer database.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Participates in beginning level administrative work. Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of administration and management. Ability to learn administrative and management operations under supervision. Ability to analyze and resolve routine matters and problems. Ability in oral and written communication. Ability to use computer programs and office equipment. The ability to speak Spanish fluently and to translate written Spanish into English is required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - Typical ways to obtain KSAs would be: Three years responsible experience in a position requiring skill in oral and written communication, initiative, judgment and independence in the performance of duties; or an Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college or university an done year of the required experience; or a Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. Ideal candidate will speak/write/translate Spanish, have a working knowledge of Arizona consumer fraud laws, and possess strong computer and customer service skills.
