Seniors Strike Back Mail Project
One of the volunteers across Arizona who has made outstanding contributions includes:
John Guderian, of Mesa, has been a volunteer for the Attorney General’s Fraud Fighter Program for two and a half years. As a member of the program Guderian educates the community on fraud, scams, and identity theft through public speaking and community events. Guderian’s 26 years of experience with the U.S. Customs Service made him the perfect candidate for this program. Guderian is also part of the volunteer conciliation effort, working to get settlements on consumer complaints. John also runs the volunteer office at the Mesa downtown senior center where he helps community members with consumer complaints, scams, and many other issues.
Tom Wisniewski. of Sierra Vista, has ben a volunteer for the Attorney General's Statellite Office in Sierra Vista for just over one and half years. He has been instramental in the opening of the satellite office at Ft. Hauchuca. His "most rewarding case so far was when an over 90 year old woman who cared for her blind son came to our office.
She had started a small independent business and ended up being scammed out of over $16,000.00. With the help of the Attorney General's staff, we helped retrieve all her money even though the scam covered several states."
